ESOL Classes

ESOL classes at Healthy Living Centre Dartford are designed to encourage fluency and build confidence when speaking English in everyday situations. The classes focus on real-life scenarios in contexts that are relevant to students’ lives. The sessions are fun and lively, all students are encouraged to participate regardless of ability in an inclusive and supportive environment.

The groups are multilingual and consequently the students cannot resort to their first language in order to communicate with each other or the tutor. The course is holistic, mainly using a communicative approach and blended learning. The group is comprised of members of mixed ability and in each lesson differentiation is a key part of the planning. Great effort is made to include the students at their different levels within the group, so that no one feels at a disadvantage. There is a healthy dynamic in the classroom and the atmosphere is one of inclusion.
